Specially created for all you procrastinators cramming (or not cramming).

There's only a few more days left before the AP Biology! If you're left cramming last minute, you're not alone. In order to make things a bit easier for you, I've gathered a bunch of resources I (and some of my friends) thought were really helpful for studying.

This post contains links to study guides, websites, YouTube channels, practice tests, and more (I'm not being financially compensated for these links in ANY way. I'm also a high schooler who took AP Bio last year and these were the resources I found helpful). If you're coming here from my latest Instagram post, this page lists all the links in the same order they appear in on the post and has a few more extra links at the bottom.

AP Biology Online Study Guides

AP Biology Complete Student Notes: (AKA THE BEST RESOURCE OUT THERE) This has been an ultimate lifesaver, going through everything on the AP Bio exam in a way that is understandable. Honestly, in my opinion, other than practice tests, this is the BEST resource for AP Bio.

AP Bio Penguins Study Guide: This one has more practice problems for every unit (and more at the very end of the study guide, once you scroll down).

AP Biology Websites

Khan Academy: The obvious go-to for anyone struggling in a class. Khan Academy has an AP Bio course that is pretty similar to the CED and its practice problems are similar to ones I've taken on practice tests.

Course Notes: Has a bunch of AP Bio notes you can use to study topics you're not comfortable with. The explanations are pretty easy to follow.

AP Classroom: The daily videos suck, but if your teacher unlocked practice FRQs and MCQs, this is useful.

AP Bio Penguins: This website has a ton of resources. She is also on Instagram as @apbiopenguins with a TON of really great practice problems on her story every day + Q&A.

AP Biology YouTube Channels

Bozeman Science: A YouTube Channel that my AP Bio teacher recommended with amazing videos on bio (and other subjects).

Crash Course: Not exactly in depth enough for the AP level, but good if you need a review on something.

Amoeba Sisters: Same as Crash Course.

AP Bio Practice Exams + Misc Resources:

AP Biology Complete Terms Quizlet Set: I found a quizlet set that has all the important terms you need to know for AP Bio

Practice FRQs: These are previously released tests from the College Board

Fiveable: A website with crams and short reviews of each topic and unit.

Albert: This website does have questions, but you need to pay for it. However, it does contain information on how to answer FRQs and the format of the exam.

2013 Released AP Biology Exam: know it's outdated, but if you need a practice exam, this is free from the College Board.

Varsity Tutors Practice Exams: They're free (I think), and have a lot of stuff.

PrepScholar's List of Complete AP Bio Exams: A website with lists of practice tests you can take.

AP Biology OpenStax Free Textbook: Use this for units that you are really, really stuck on. This is a free online website/textbook for AP Bio.

AP Bio Prep Books:

1. Barrons (especially their AP Bio premium prep book). It explains concepts in a lot of detail and has a good chunk of semi-accurate questions. However, it also does contain some extra unneeded units.

2. Princeton Review: better if you need more practice problems. Its explanations are much shorter and less detailed than Barrons but their questions are better and it more accurately follows the CED.

* I'd suggest using Barrons if you need help conceptually. It really helped me go over earlier and complicated units such as cellular respiration and photosynthesis in an easy-to-understand way and was super helpful for me gaining confidence in the material. I'd use Princeton Review if you're already comfortable with the material and need some place to apply what you've learned with more accurate test questions.

I hope this helps you with your AP Bio prep, and good luck on your exam! You got this, I believe in you!

P.S. The mitochondria is the powerhouse of the cell. Always remember this.
